Created for Christos Wafers by Scarecrow M&C Saatchi, the campaign includes six surreal spots directed by Rajiv Rao, though Nirvana, featuring Christopher, the charmingly deranged new brand mascot.
A strangely cool customer, the moustachioed, sombrero-sporting Christopher has a passion for chilli peppers and random outbursts of song and dance as he appears in a variety of bizarre scenarios along with his crisp-munching sidekick.
He makes odd paintings, gets tattooed, shoots crisps into his chum’s mouth, randomly builds a stone sculpture on a buried head and generally larks about in a deranged fashion.
The unfathomable whimsy is given a Latino flavour thanks to a catchy brand anthem created with flamenco guitars, trumpets and the dulcet tones of singers Suman Sridhar and Shahriyar Atai.
